CATEGORY: * <up/down arrow keys> = scroll up and down.
MENU DEFINITIONS * <page up/down> = move a full screen at a time.
* <ESC> = return to the HELP SCREEN main menu.
SUPER LOTTO-MASTER GOLD * <?> = detailed list of key functions.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a list of all the pull-down menu items with an
in-depth description of what each feature will, and will not
do.
FILES/Select A Lottery Database
-------------------------------
Brings up a scrolling alphabetical list of all the current
databases existing in the directory with the program files.
A database must be selected before the user can analyze it,
view it, add past-winning entries to it, or delete entries
from it. Once a database is selected, it will remain in use
until the user selects another database, deletes the
database, or quits the program. Once the program is quit,
and next restarted, there is no database selected. A line
prompt below the copyright notice will keep you informed of
the name of the currently selected database (if any). There
may be a total of 40 databases listed. If more than 40
exist, the program will list alphabetically the first 40 and
ignore the rest. Database files have the extension .SLM and
the program creates 1 additional file, LOTNAMES.SLM to sort
and keep track of the filenames.
FILES/Create A Lottery Database
-------------------------------
Used to enter names of new database files being created in
the program by the user. When selected, this feature will
bring up a list of choices of the types of files that can be
created by the user, 3-digit, 4-digit, 5-digit, 6-digit,
7-digit, or 5-digit with a bonus ball (like PowerBall). Once
you select the type, program prompts you to enter a name for
the database. It is important that you select a name that
will associate with the database, because after several
databases exist, it is important that you select and work
with the correct sets of numbers. The program will give you
hints on selecting names. And finally, the program will ask
you what is the highest number that can be drawn in this
particular lottery. (The 3 and 4-digit games will not prompt
you for this information). Super Lotto-Master Gold supports
lotteries with as few as 15 numbers (not including 3 or
4-digit) and as many as 99 numbers.
FILES/Delete A Lottery Database
-------------------------------
Allows a user to delete a complete database. Program will
bring up a scrollable list of all the databases that exist in
the program directory and warn you that you are about to
delete a database. Highlight a name and press <Enter> or
click on a name with the mouse and the database will cease to
exist. We strongly suggest that during this function, you
use the up and down arrow keys and the <Enter> key to select
the name you wish to delete to avoid accidently pointing to
the wrong name with the mouse and deleting an irreplaceable
data file. (Remember to back-up your files often to save
headaches down the road).
FILES/Add Winning Numbers
-------------------------
Use this feature to input past-winning drawn lottery numbers
into the program to be analyzed. You will have had to create
a database, and then selected it, before you are ready to add
numbers.
When you select ADD WINNING NUMBERS, the program will ask you
for the date of the particular drawing which you are about to
enter. All date entries are input as MM/DD/YY month, date,
and year. The program recognizes all year entries of 50 to
99 as 1950 to 1999, and 00 to 49 as 2000 to 2049. Therefore,
the program will still be operational through the turn of the
century. At any point during entry, use the <-BACKSPACE key
to correct a mistake. After the complete date has been
added, you will be asked to press ANY KEY if date is okay.
Entry may be aborted at any point by pressing ESC key.
Next you will be prompted to enter the numbers that were
drawn on the date just entered. If you are inputting 3 or
4-digit numbers, they MUST BE entered IN EXACT ORDER AS
DRAWN. All other lotteries may be entered in any order and
the program will sort the numbers numerically (except under
special circumstances explained under TOGGLE SORT ON/OFF).
At any time during entry, use the <-BACKSPACE key to correct
a mistake. Once the complete number has been inputed, you
will be prompted to PRESS ANY KEY if entry is okay. Entry
may be aborted at any point by pressing ESC key.
Once a date and set of numbers has been entered, the last
entry will be displayed at the top of the screen. You will
now be prompted to enter another date. You may continue
adding as many entries as you wish. When you are finished
adding numbers, press the ESC key and all the entries of this
session will be added to the proper database files and you
will be returned to the main menu screen.
When adding numbers, a note at the top of the box will
indicate whether the SORT OPTION is ON or OFF. It makes no
difference in what order your numbers are entered if the sort
option is turned ON. For instance, you can enter the drawing
of 02/17/97, then 01/01/97, then 12/25/96, etc., and the
entries will be automatically sorted to the correct order.
All months and dates must have 2 digits (a zero before any
single digit number), and likewise, any lottery number under
10 must be preceded by a zero.
FILES/View Numbers In A Database
--------------------------------
This feature works with the currently selected database.
Selecting this item brings up a scrollable list of numbers in
the selected database, showing the name, and the total number
of entries in the database. The list always shows the older
dates first at the top of the list. To immediately go to the
bottom of the list (to get to the most recent entry) click
the mouse at the bottom of the scroll bar. (This is the best
way to verify your latest entry).
FILES/Delete Numbers In A Database
----------------------------------
This option works with the currently selected database.
Select this item to bring up a scrollable list of all the
entries in the selected database. Highlight an entry and
press <Enter>, or single click with the mouse on an entry to
delete it from the database. Once it is deleted, the
database will be resorted and you are returned to the main
menu screen.
FILES/Backup Data Files
-----------------------
This option copies all of the .SLM lottery database files
which the user has created, and are located in the same
directory as the program files, to a floppy disk, or to
another directory on your hard drive. Program will prompt
you to input the location. If you are backing up to a floppy
drive, type the drive letter, followed by a colon, as A: or
B:. If you are backing to directory, type the correct drive
letter, followed by a colon, followed by a slash, followed by
the directory, as C:\BACKUP (whereas C is the correct letter
of the drive, and BACKUP is the correct name of the
directory. You may use subdirectories or any other valid
path. If a directory does not exist, or a path name is
wrong, the program will ignore it and not try to copy the
files. We strongly suggest you backing up your files during
every session in which you add any entries to your databases.
WARNING: The files will write over any file of the same name
without giving you a warning message.
FILES/Restore Data Files
------------------------
Restores all of the .SLM lottery database files which the
user has previously backed up. Will restore from any valid
path from a floppy drive or hard drive. Program will ask you
to input the location of the backed-up files. If you are
restoring from a floppy drive, type the drive letter,
followed by a colon, as A: or B:. If you are restoring from
a directory, type the correct drive letter, followed by a
colon, followed by a slash, followed by the directory, as
C:\BACKUP (whereas C is the correct letter of the drive, and
BACKUP is the correct name of the directory. You may use
subdirectories or any other valid path. If a directory does
not exist, or a path name is wrong, the program will ignore
it and not try to restore the files. WARNING: the restored
files will write over any file of the same name without
giving you a warning message.
FILES/Exit
----------
Quits the program and returns you to DOS or Windows,
depending on where you were when you started the program.
Closes all opened databases.
ANALYZE/Computer-Analyze Numbers To Screen
------------------------------------------
To use this option, you must have a database selected, and it
must have at least 10 entries. All information will be
displayed only to the screen.
You will be given the option of selecting the number of past-
winning entries that you wish the program to analyze (minimum
is 10, maximum is total number of entries in this particular
database).
Next, the program will display:
* The name of the database about to be analyzed.
* The highest number that can be drawn.
* The total number of entries in this database.
* The number of entries user selected to analyze.
Program will ask you how you want the numbers displayed and
give you a multiple choice of all the options available to
you at this time (1 set of numbers, 2 sets of numbers, etc.,
and a new feature called criss-cross (created by our good
friend and beta-tester, ROBERT PERKIS).
The easiest way to explain criss-cross is to show you an
example. We think this method is going to greatly increase
your chances of hitting more numbers. If you chose criss-
cross on a 5-digit lottery, this is basically what the
computer is going to return (using 25 make-believe numbers):
The best 25 numbers most-likely to appear in the next
drawing:
06-07-12-33-11-27-21-01-42-19-30-39-44-16-25-28-09-23-35-24
03-10-40-15-13
But here is how they will display, because they are 5-digit,
they will appear in rows of 5:
06-07-12-33-11
27-21-01-42-19
30-39-44-16-25
28-09-23-35-24
03-10-40-15-13
Next you will see the same numbers displayed by column:
06-27-30-28-03
07-21-39-09-10
12-01-44-23-40
33-42-16-35-15
11-19-25-24-13
And finally comes the criss-cross, all the numbers forming
the X: 06-21-44-35-13
11-42-44-09-03
Hence, by playing criss-cross, the program instead of just
giving you 5 sets of numbers to play, has given you 12 sets
for your consideration. The program displays what it
considers the best numbers, from left to right, and top to
bottom. Therefore, 06 would be the best number, next 07,
then 12, then 33, then 11, then 27, etc.
You cannot play criss-cross in every game if there are not
enough numbers to go around (i.e. to play with a 6-digit game
you would 36 numbers, 6 across times 6 down. An example of
when you could not do this would be if the highest number
drawn in the lottery was 35).
3-DIGIT GAMES - All the games display only 1 column of
numbers, except the 3-digit. It will display 3 columns of
numbers for you to choose from. The first column forces OUT
the zero as a pick, the second column forces IN the zero as a
pick, and the third column does not regard it or disregard it
one way or the other. You will need to study the 3 methods
and see which method is producing the most hits for the
lottery games in your area.
To return to the main menu, press a mouse key.
ANALYZE/Computer-Analyze Numbers To Printer
-------------------------------------------
To use this option, you must have a database selected, and it
must have at least 10 entries. All information will be
sent to the printer.
All features here are exactly the same as COMPUTER-ANALYZE
NUMBERS TO SCREEN (listed above).
REPORTS/Print Database (Printer)
--------------------------------
Prints a list of the selected database in numerical order
according to date. Once you select this option, you have a
chance to cancel with the ESC key. This option prints only
to printer, not to screen. If you merely want to view
certain numbers in the database, use the FILES/View option.
REPORTS/Hit Chart (Printer)
---------------------------
Prints a list of up to the last 25 drawings of the selected
database file, displaying every number up to the highest
number that can be drawn, and indicates how many drawings
have elasped since the number has been drawn.
When the number has been drawn, it is indicated with an XX.
When the number has NOT been drawn, it is indicated with a
number, starting with 01, and then adding 1 digit to that
number each time the number fails to hit. With this list you
can instantly spot and track the really hot numbers, and the
really cold numbers.
This option prints only to printer, not to screen. The see
hot and cold numbers listed on screen, see the HOT/COLD
feature listed below.
REPORTS/Average Position (Screen)
---------------------------------
Select a database and click on this item to see in which
groups the past-winning numbers are hitting the most. This
feature does not work with 3-digit or 4-digit (because these
numbers would all be the tens).
Shows you statistics including the name of the chosen
database, the highest number that can be drawn, and the total
number of entries that user has entered into the program.
Shows how many numbers has hit in the ONES (1 thru 9), total
number that has hit in the TENS (10 thru 19), TWENTIES (20
thru 29), THIRTIES (30 thru 39), etc., then it lists the
total percent of the time that each group above has had hits,
rounding off each percentage to the nearest whole number.
This report prints only to screen. For a paper printout, use
your computer keyboard's "PRINT SCREEN" option. Press mouse
button or any key to close this report window.
REPORTS/Hot and Cold (Screen)
-----------------------------
Shows every number in the selected database (in white
numbers), the total number of times each number has appeared
in a previous drawing (gray numbers), and determines if each
number is HOT, AVERAGE, or COLD, depending on the number of
draws of each number. Displays HOT in red, AVG in light
blue, and COLD in dark blue.
This report prints only to screen. For a paper printout, use
your computer keyboard's "PRINT SCREEN" option. Press any
mouse button or keyboard key to close this report window.
OPTIONS/About This Version
--------------------------
Displays version number and copyright information.
OPTIONS/Print Documentation
---------------------------
Use this option to print the complete documentation file.
Another way to print the file is to type PRINTDOC at the DOS
prompt. The easiest way to view this file by category is to
use the OPTIONS/On-Line Help to display any part of this file
directly to the computer screen.
OPTIONS/View Calendar
---------------------
Brings up a pop-up window with a calendar of the current
month displayed, and the current date blinking. This is a
quick and handy way to find the next/last drawing date of a
particular lottery, etc.
Use the -> RIGHT ARROW (6) on the numeric keypad to go
forward one month at a time, or the <- LEFT ARROW (4) to move
back to the previous months, one month at a time. Dates are
good up through the 2000's.
OPTIONS/Select Sound
--------------------
Allows you to change the sound of an exploding window as it
opens from a squeak, tick, or beep. Default sound is squeak.
OPTIONS/Turn Sound Off
----------------------
Use this option to disable the sound effects of an opening
window. Note: you may still get a beep occasionally if the
program is trying to display an error message, but generally
you will hear no effects.
OPTIONS/Toggle Sort On or Off
-----------------------------
Default is SORT feature is turned ON and this is the way we
recommend you to use the program (except under the following
noted special conditions).
When you start using the program, make sure the sort is ON.
Once you turn it on or off, it remains in that position, even
when quiting and restarting the program.
There are two ways to tell the current status of the sort
option. (1) is to open the OPTIONS pull-down menu window and
look directly to the left of the word TOGGLE. If there is a
small, black dot, then the sort option is ON. If there is no
dot there, then the sort option is turned OFF. (2) is to
look at the top of the open window when you are adding
numbers to a lottery database. It will indicate that the
sort is turned ON, or the sort is turned OFF.
WHEN TO TURN THE SORT OPTION OFF:
* When your lottery draws more than one 3-digit or 4-digit
drawing on the same date and you want to keep all the
numbers in the date order as drawn. It is important that
you enter your numbers in correct order by date if you are
using this option because the program will place each entry
you input at the bottom of the list, regardless of date.
For instance, on January 1, 1997 your lottery draws two
3-digit numbers. At 5:00 p.m. it draws 674, and at 9:00
p.m. it draws 427.
ENTER YOUR DRAWINGS IN THIS ORDER WITH SORT OPTION ON
01/01/97 674 THEY WILL LOOK LIKE
01/01/97 427 THIS: 01/01/97 427
AND THIS IS HOW THEY WILL LIST 01/01/97 674
Remember, if you enter an earlier date in 3-digit or
4-digit with the sort turned OFF, that entry will be sent
to the bottom of the list and appear out of order. We
don't want this when the computer begins analyzing the
numbers. (Note: the program will NEVER sort the order of
the 3 or 4 numbers drawn, for instance 573 and 7930 will
NEVER be sorted as 357 and 0379, because we ALWAYS want the
3-digit and 4-digit numbers in the order as drawn).
Note: when 3-digit and 4-digit drawings are entered into a
database out of sequence, and with the sort option turned
OFF, meaning the dates will not be in order, then it is
highly likely that the results you receive from the
computer analyst will be unsatisfactory. We recommend that
when the sort option is turned OFF, that you make sure you
are entering the drawings correctly according to date.
* WHEN YOU WANT TO PLAY SPACES: Normally with the sort option
turned ON, you cannot enter the same digit twice under the
same date. However, with the sort OFF, you can enter any
number you wish, for instance the spaces between each
number drawn. Here's how to track the spaces: For our
example, we are tracking a 6-digit database and the last
numbers drawn were 06-07-09-12-28-29 (place the numbers in
numeric order, smallest to largest).
We now create a 5-digit database because there are 5 spaces
in the above example number. For our entry, we would use
the same date as the numbers above were drawn, and make the
entry: 01-02-03-16-01. (Note that with the sort option
turned OFF, the program allows you to enter multiple digits
of the same number, such as 01 being entered twice, and the
program does not sort the numbers, as: 01-01-02-03-16 as it
normally would a 5-digit number). Now, after 10 entries
have been input into the spaces database, use the program
calculate function and it will treat the spaces just as if
they were numbers. And lets say in our example that we
asked the program to print 1 set of numbers and that it
chose: 03-01-16-01-02, and that the lottery we were
tracking had a drawing of 6 numbers out of 35. Hence, here
is how you would pick your lottery numbers for the next
drawing, and have 12 plays (this varies) from just one
program analyze calculation:
Start with the -> 01-04-05-21-22-24 Notice that every
smallest number 02-05-06-22-23-25 row of numbers
which will 03-06-07-23-24-26 have the exact
always be 01. 04-07-08-24-25-27 same number of
05-08-09-25-26-28 spaces as the
06-09-10-26-27-29 program computer
07-10-11-27-28-30 pick.
08-11-12-28-29-31
09-12-13-29-30-32
10-13-14-30-31-33
11-14-15-31-32-34
12-15-16-32-33-35 <- You have to stop
here because you
have reached 35,
the highest number
that can be drawn.
* WHEN YOU WANT THE NUMBERS LEFT IN THE SAME ORDER AS DRAWN:
When the sort option is ON, your numbers can be input in
any order, such as the exact order as the lottery pulled
them from the drum, and the program will automatically sort
them into numerical order.
If for any reason you want them left in the order exactly
as you enter them into the program, turn the sort option
OFF. However, they will still be automatically sorted
according to date drawn, and there is no way to override
this function. (The reason being, if you want to analyze
10 entries out of a database of 500 entries, the program
wants to see the LAST 10 DRAWN, and this is the only way it
can guarantee itself of that fact. Also note, 3-digit and
4-digit numbers are ALWAYS left in the same order as
drawn, because each digit is analyzed separately and
differently than the other drawings).
Here are the RULES of the SORT OPTION:
WITH THE SORT TURNED ON:
* All of the entries will be sorted numerically according
to date, with the most recent at the end of the list.
* Each individual entry will be further sorted
numerically according to the size of each digit, from
smallest to largest (except that 3-digit and 4-digit
numbers will not be sorted, except by date).
* No duplicate numbers are allowed in each 5, 6, and
7-digit entries
WITH THE SORT TURNED OFF:
* The 5, 6, and 7-digit entries WILL BE sorted
numerically by date, with the most recent date at the
bottom of the list.
* Each 5, 6, and 7-digit group of numbers will remain in
the order that they were input, and no sorting will
occur.
* Program will accept duplicate numbers in the same entry
of a 5, 6, or 7-digit entry (as in playing spaces as
described above).
* The 3 and 4-digit entries WILL NOT BE sorted by date
and will go to the bottom of the list in the order as
entered.
